“The Turning Point We had a conversation about it, and what really stayed with me was hearing my husband say he had to do whatever it took to make our marriage work.
”
This story has been edited for length and clarity.
For a while, we were stuck in a pattern of trying to be like other marriages, without appreciating what we had. We weren't communicating properly, and it created a divide. I felt my husband thought I wasn't contributing enough, and that anything I did was just his due. On my side, I felt my efforts weren't being seen or valued.
The Turning Point
We had a conversation about it, and what really stayed with me was hearing my husband say he had to do whatever it took to make our marriage work. That helped us reach a compromise.
We started focusing on communication and attended seminars. We learned to look past the small issues and understand each other more deeply. It wasn't an overnight change, but a conscious effort to shift our perspective.
Where We Are Now
We are still a work in progress, and it's not perfect. Communication remains key for us. There are always periods of highs and lows, but as Christians, we've learned to be patient, which is a fruit of the Spirit. We always pray for each other and against the enemy of the home.
